Gabrielle Coco Chanel - my role model
The lady behind those trademark suits, elegant pearls and beautiful black dresses. She created the most and only timeless collections that looked so sophisticated yet elegant. After all she always said “luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury.” A Chanel piece is equivalent to diamonds. It’s that of an investment that will last a lifetime.
I wished I lived the 20’s to witness her legacy breakthrough. Having to live through the war, close down her shops, lose her loved ones, I can’t imagine as a human being how much she had to go through. I truly admire her strength and determination to follow her dreams and break stereotypes and fashion rules. She changed how women dressed in the days of tight corsets and uncomfortable clothes. She stayed on course to her own vision and never let anything stop her.
Her breakthrough gave women the courage to channel their alter egos and discover their personal style. This is why the caption of my tumblr are Chanels words that fashion fades and style only remains.
